The McKibbin family bought over Brennan's business in 1996.
The renown of the Brennan name was such that it was retained and the business has continued to flourish. The store at Loughinisland, Seaforde was just 800 sq. ft until November 1998 when we opened the brand new 2,800 sq. ft Brennans store. This was subsequently refurbished May 2008 incorporating the SPAR branded shop and Go Fuels forecourt.
The Dundrum store opened in late 2006 and proved an instant hit with shoppers. The opening of Brennans VIVO gave local residents and passers-by a new choice of where to shop in a clean, bright, modern, stylish environment, with a good range of products and friendly, efficient service.
PROVIDING EVERY HOUSEHOLD NEED
We have a food-to-go and deli counter in-store, offering an extensive breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, including a lot of home-made dishes, as well as freshly made sandwiches.
Brennans VIVO also boasts a busy in-store Post Office, along with a Bank of Ireland in-store ATM.
Of course, we cover all the main needs of any household, with a big focus on fresh fruit and vegetables, chilled meats and dairy, soft drinks, crisps and snacks, bread and bakery, confectionery, cleaning, newspapers and magazines, and a good selection of organic products, from cereals through to chocolates.
VERY INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY
We provide an outside catering service, with all the food prepared in-store at Brennans. We can cater for birthdays, christenings, and many other events.
Brennans is also involved in the local community, sponsoring various events and activities, as well as running competitions in-store. Past events include a poetry competition in the local primary school for mother's day, or a coffee morning in aid of a local children's cancer charity - a real community day, with families calling in for tea and coffee and homemade scones, buns and apple pie. It's a great way for us to get to know our customers better - and vice versa - while at the same time raising money for a very worthy cause.
